Math: “It feels like the very first time”

July 23, 2012 No Comments

For some reason this Foreigner song came into my head when writing this post.

“Foreigner” is a good word for how I feel about Math.  I probably know more than I think but it still feels foreign sometimes, especially the advanced concepts.  I remember high school. I remember college.  At one time I thought I was pretty decent at Math, but these days I feel rustier than I would like to.

However, how do you learn when you aren’t in school or really don’t have a budget for education?

Even if you find the content, will it teach the concept well enough so you are not left confused?  Will it give you a place to practice the concept?  What about the next concept, where do you learn that?

Thankfully there is Khan Academy. Check it out:

Hello Math.  What are you learning?
